Traveling to Bucharest

By air

Flying to Bucharest is the easiest manner of getting to the capital of Romania. Bucharest is serviced by the Henri Coandă Airport (Otopeni) which is connected with major cities in Europe and the other cities in Romania, such as Cluj, Timișoara and Iași. Also, the airport is used for both charter and low-cost flights, such as Wizz Air, Ryanair, Air France, Lufthansa or British Airways.

By train

The North Train Station is the main train station of Bucharest. Located some 3 kilometers northwest from the center of the city, this station is the terminal of plenty of trains which travel throughout Romania, linking Bucharest to all the major cities of the country.

It is also the place where the international trains heading for Romania arrive. Bucharest has railway connections with European destinations like Budapest or Vienna, so you can travel to Bucharest by train from the heart of Europe.

In order to learn more about the trains heading to / departing from Bucharest, please visit SNCFR. Tourists interested in extending their stay in Romania might find the information on the domestic train trips from Bucharest to other national destinations useful, which is why they are advised to visit the railway guide provided by SNCFR.

By car

TTraveling by car to Bucharest could be an inspired solution. Romania is crisscrossed by national and county roads, and also by three main motorways (A1, A2 and A3 respectively).

For complete information on the road traffic rules of Romania, as well as for the complete map of the motorways, national and county roads, visit the National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration.

Traveling in Bucharest

From the Henri Coandă Airport you can travel by train or taxi. At the Arrivals Hall there is a touchpoint where you can choose the taxi company and price per km you want to pay. The touchpoint will print you out a ticket giving a waiting time and a number. This number will be on the side of the taxi which arrives for you. Show him the ticket, but keep it for further reference. Please do not accept a taxi driver who will wait inside the building of the airport and don’t take a taxi waiting in front of the airport if not previously ordered from the touchpoint.

Alternatively, you may take BlackCab (fixed price approx. 18 euros to the city centre).

During the conference you can travel inside the city using the public transportation network which includes: bus, tram, trolley bus and subway. The programme is usually between 5 am and 11 pm, but it can be shorter during weekends. For more information about tickets and programme please visit the following sites:
